For stock and mutual fund gifts, shares are transferred into an account owned by Cru. A Stock Administrator then sells the shares. A check is issued for the value of the stock or mutual fund. Once the check is received, it is deposited and credited according to your intentions.
To initiate this process, you can fill out the Stock Transfer Form linked below and instruct your broker to transfer your shares from your account to Cru.

Cru accepts tax-deductible gifts of various forms of virtual (digital) currency such as Bitcoin. Per government requirements, these gifts are recognized as real property and are received and receipted similarly to stock and other securities. Virtual currency gifts of $5,000 or more annually require a qualified appraisal.

If you produce commodities, such as grain and livestock, you can give by selling the product in Cru's name. The elevator then sends Cru a check from the sale. There are times when a Non-Cash Gifts Administrator needs to contact the elevator in order to sell the commodity. If that is the case, please contact us
You can use the Commodities Form in order to request the sale in Cru's name at your local elevator.
